Dani Bella

D5 - G5 - A5 - C5

So I heard you think that you're a punk rocker,
Just 'cuz you wear Chucks and you know you like the shocker
Well I've got news for you and those clues you use
Won't save your soul but hey, it's yours to lose.
You're playing a part that belongs to another
We all know you're not an underage surrogate mother
Working two extra jobs just to put food on the table
But if that lie is your life then let it lie in the cradle
'Cuz

You decided you knew me
Thought you saw right through me
But I've got a flash and a reporter's pass
And tomorrows headline reads "Kiss my ass"
Because I'm sick of the snotty way your roll your "r"s
I hate the way you're always trying to flaunt your scars
Like you're the only one who's ever lost some skin
And if death was a trap then I'd just push you in.
Because you're not worth the effort or the time that I spent
Sitting there in your dress hiding malicious intent
You're a witch and a bitch and I hate to be blunt
But to tell you the truth you're a total...

[Chorus]
Well I may not be so wise, but I'm seeing through your disguise,
Between your thin-bound thighs, past your fiery eyes,
Into that dark inner core.
And I'd blow you off if I could, and we should,
Never cross paths if we ever would, I said goodbye for good,
But I find myself wanting more.

So rip up those photos you'll need them no more,
Throw the crap I left over there out the back door,
Because you'll never find me begging for that junk again,
I've got better things to do with my weekends
Than to hike fifty miles to your back ass little town.
I swear I'll never spend another minute on Valley street,
Even thinking of the place I'm keeping discrete
So you don't get any sense that I'll be coming around.

[Chorus]

So move on and settle down your life is getting manic
Stop rolling around on the town in a panic,
There's more to this world than McDonalds, not everything's a venue
So next time if you can try to be less like you
Just don't do the things you'd normally do,
Then maybe you'll learn to eat rich, and not off the dollar menu.
You make me sick and I'm imperfect,
But I know you're just not worth it.
I got enough trouble on my own,
To have to try to deal with you.

Second Song Draft

I wrote this while listening to my Dispatch playlist, so I need to try and mess with the rhythm and meter to make this work.

Dive//From The Heavens

Well I looked to the sky
Trying to find
Something to guide me
And when it got down to it
I saw right through it
And found it inside me.
Because looking for answers
From celestial dancers
Just fails to inspire
Because if I'm not livin'
For the gifts that I'm given
I might as well expire.

[Chorus (1)]
The sun'll be up soon
Can't you see it from the summit?
Now take my hand, walk with me,
And we'll plummet.
(You've got to fight your fear)
I can't wait for you no more
So you take this leap with me
(Or you just disappear... while I soar).

They're light years away
But I live for the day
And the night in which I exist
And if I should fall
Out of touch with it all
Then I'd be inclined to resist.
But until the day reckons
My destiny beckons
For me to push forth, head held high
So I'll lie in the shades
With my forces in spades
Until my time comes nigh.

[Chorus (2)]
The sun'll be up soon
Can't you see it from the summit?
Now take my hand, walk with me,
And we'll plummet.
(You've got to fight your fear)
You take my hand, steady,
And I see you're ready
(So let's make our way from here).

The world's not enough
So I'm calling your bluff
Play for keeps and the stakes start to rise
And at the end of the day
I'd see it no other way
Than through these, my own righteous eyes.
So fold if you must
But I know I can trust
My instinct as it's never been wrong
If my perceptions are scrambled
Then I shouldn't have gambled
And I won't have that claim for so long.

I haven't written the music or chorus for this yet. I'm thinking of putting it into a key but I still haven't learned my fifths yet, so I'm at a standstill there.

Brainstorm:
D7 > A > C > B

First completed song.

Last night I took the time to write a song and I'm happy with the way it came out. For anyone who can play the chord pattern is G - Em7 - Am - (D - Dsus4) over 4 lines, 8 beats per chord except the D's, which each have 4 beats.

EDIT: Finally named it.

BITTERSWEET CHASER

Well I went downtown one night
Took a walk by the docks,
Gazing down at the ocean
I watched the foam hit the rocks.
And the sealine receded
'Cross the rocky red shore
Then I realized I needed
To see you a little more.

(Chorus)
Because when I think of you, and me
And the things we could do, I see
The muse at the end of my tunnel, and she
Has eyes just like yours
They've vibrant and brown
They pierce me to the core
Keep my feet on the ground.

So I ran to the station
Jumped on the next bus
Analyzed my situation
My heart started to rush.
My mind, it was racin'
My fingers were pacin'
Across these fiery strings
Makin' a burnin' sensation.

(Don't know whether to put a chorus in here or not yet)

So I rode for three days
Just roaming the roads
Got off somewhere new
Packed and ready to go.
With nothing to my name
But an eighth and guitar
I stood there amazed
Because love goes so far.

(Chorus)

So I showed up at the door
With flowers and surprise
And there's nothing worth more
Than the look in her eyes.
She eyed me with shock
In her eyes formed a tear,
So I pulled her in close
And whispered gently,
"I'm here..."

NSFW.

Halfway across Earth
I sit and you sit just once
Until the bell rings
Then you look, I am not here
We've traded places.
